The radio station SEVER was established at the time of the blockade of Leningrad by an adjustment to the prewar type OMEGA. It was produced in four versions and used as a military and agency radio station. While the military radio stations had Russian labels, the agency radio stations used English. Serial production started in 1942 and more than 7,000 stations were produced by the end of the war. Because they were reliable, easy to use, and easy to carry and hide from the enemy, they became a favorite among Czechoslovak soldiers in the USSR. The radio station from the MHI collection was found in July 1948 by a shepherd by the skeleton of an unknown solder from the time of the Slovak National Uprising in Králova Hola in the village Liptovská Teplička, Liptovský Mikuláš.
