At the very end of the war, Nazi Germany developed an entirely new type of camouflage uniform (referred to by collectors as the Leibermuster), which was intended to unify the variety of types in use and at the same time introduced a completely new element - camouflage in the infrared spectrum. In fact, the black component of the six-colour print had masking properties even with the newly introduced night vision devices. Due to the general chaos, these uniforms reached the front in very small numbers, and most of the period photographs showing them come from north-eastern Bohemia. Modifications of this camouflage print were used by Czechoslovakia and Switzerland after the war.
