There was a wide range of munition for a German battle pistol Z with rifled bore, developer from the model Walther Heer 1938, ranging from standard signal cartridges through grenades with percussion fuse to the so-called intelligence cartridges (Nachrichtenpatrone Z). It was made for the needs of cavalry units working at the rear of the enemy by the WASAG company in Reindorf. The warhead of the cartridge made of black plastic carried a folded printed form for a situation report and a small pencil. The cartridge with a message about the discovered situation stored in the warhead could be shot to scout ́s own lines
