The wooden Arctic-type skis are pointed on both sides, coated with sable skin with fur and have leather bindings. The skin was fastened to the skis with the fur towards the back in order to prevent skidding while allowed them to slide forward. The skis, which were originally from Siberian tribes, were used by members of the Red Army during winter operations on the Siberian Railway during the Civil War (1917-1920). In May 1919 in the fighting near the Siberian Tayshet (today's Irkutsk region, Russia), they were captured by members of the 1st Czechoslovak Rifle Regiment "Jan Hus". In 1920 after their return to the homeland, the skis were handed over by the legionnaires for the collection of the Memorial of the Resistance.
