Well-known industrialist and inventor Ludvík Očenášek (1872–1949) intercepted and transmitted to Maffia the content of conversations from the military line of the general staffs in Vienna and Berlin. The line was tapped in 1918 at the Demartinka homestead in Prague, Smichov. He used a simple device to tap into the telephone line. During the interwar period, Ocenasek became especially famous for his experiments with rocket technology. He is listed in the International Space Hall of Fame.
