Handmade wooden model of the French Brumaire-class submarine in a scale of 1:120 commissioned in Toulon in 1912. After the outbreak of WWI, it served in the Mediterranean Sea. On 20 December 1914, it tried to attack the Austro-Hungarian port of Pula on the Istrian peninsula, during which it was caught in anti-submarine nets and sunk. Almost the entire crew was fished out and captured. However, due to the small number of submarines in the Austro-Hungarian Navy, it was pulled out, repaired, and then it served under the name U14 until the end of the war, during which it sank 11 ships. The model was made by one of surviving crew members in an Austro-Hungarian POW camp in the town Jablonec (Gablonz an der Neiße).
